JavaScript Developer

Squiz is a young, exciting and growing company based in Shoreditch, London. With offices in Australia, New Zealand and Europe and plans to expand into America and Asia in 2011. We consult, build and manage engaging websites and online applications using our open source Web Experience Management Suite, the Squiz Suite. Our clients include many household names and range from large global organisations to Government bodies and charities.

Responsibilities

Squiz is seeking an experienced JavaScript developer. You will be responsible for the design, development and successful delivery of front end functionality, which will be rolled out to multiple websites on the Squiz Suite platform. As our lead JavaScript developer you will also be responsible for creating a solid JavaScript framework and encouraging consistency in coding standards, high performance and clear documentation.

Requirements

The ideal candidate would be someone with a software engineering background who has chosen a career developing web applications with JavaScript as their primary programming language.

Skills and Experience

  • Expert knowledge of OOP principles and design.
  • Experience of coding core JavaScript on large scale projects.
  • Strong command of client side technologies including object-oriented JavaScript, - DOM scripting, JSON and AJAX.
  • Experience with development libraries (YUI, jQuery, etc)
  • Cross browser compatibility and debugging.
  • Standards-based HTML, CSS, XML and XSLT.
  • Knowledge of regular expressions
  • Passionate about usability and accessibility.
  • Ability to create lightning-fast interfaces that work cross browser.

Qualifications

Degree required.
