MySource Matrix is a powerful open source content management system that comes bundled with a variety of advanced functionality, however it can be made even more functional through the addition of clip-on applications called Modules.

The MySource Matrix core is available as either an open source product (released under the GPL and with no warranty) or as a Squiz Supported Version (SSV) which includes add-on support services and modules.

GPL Modules 

From version 3.12, certain modules that were only available via a commercial package have now been added to the core and are also available under the GPL version of the product. These include:

  • Account Manager – allows users to manage their account information online
  • Asset Builder – for developing simple-edit interfaces
  • Broken Link Report – for finding broken links internal and external to the CMS.
  • Custom Form – for building online forms or surveys with validation and response logging.
  • News Items – For easy publishing of news items on a site
  • Poll – for building simple online polls and dynamically generated graphs
  • Related Content Listing – dynamically associates related content items for improved site navigation.
  • RSS Feeds – automatically publish the latest news from your site in RSS format
  • Site map – automatically create a site map showing only those elements a user is authorised to access.

When choosing MySource Matrix, users have the flexibility of choosing between the open source (GPL) or Squiz Supported Version (SSV) of the product.

The GPL version enables users to acquire Matrix at zero cost and is provided without warranty, additional modules or professional support services from Squiz. 

The SSV is a paid-for version of the product which includes the MySource Matrix CMS with a commercial-level support contract and the advanced functionality of additional Squiz Modules.
