Future of Web Content Management. Join the Debate with Gartner, Econsultancy and The World Health Organization, London July 2nd
We’re mighty excited to announce a new ‘debate-style’ event in London on July 2nd. Entitled ‘The Future of Web Content Management,’ it’s designed to tackle a big old chestnut: Open Source or Licensed - which style of web CMS development is set to thrive in today’s challenging economic climate??
Unlike our previous seminars, this one’s going to be a little different in that we’re looking to you to drive the agenda. We’ve also pushed the boat out and got ourselves a star-studded speaker panel, including:
- Mick MacComascaigh, Research Director at Gartner
- Linus Gregoriadis, chief analyst at Econsultancy
- ...and David Barrett, Web Platform Manager at The World Health Organization, Regional Office for Europe
Mick will be primed to talk about Gartner’s view on where the global CMS market is heading. Linus will be announcing the results of Econsultancy’s mega-new CMS ‘Buyers Survey’ (which looks at key functional and implementation trends within around 1,000 recent enterprise CMS projects). And David will be talking about his experiences in running large scale production web CMS environments on an open source platform.
We’ve secured a top notch venue in Australia House on the Strand, and we have seating for 150 delegates. Lunch and post-event drinks and networking will be catered for ...so get on over to our events page and grab yourself a place. We’d love to see you there!
Importantly, rather than making it an executive talking shop, we’ll be structuring a large part of the agenda as a DEBATE... so we're opening up the floor to you, the delegate, to ask the panel anything that's on your mind. Not because we’re lazy, but because we want this to be a big forum for the exchanges of real world opinions and ideas.
The subject is - broadly speaking - Open Source vs Proprietary CMS development, and how each will fare in the immediate future. We know you have strong views on this, so we’d like for you to put our panel to the test and stretch their thinking. We’d also like you to tell us how you see things - to give us your experiences and expectations - so that everyone learns in the process. (Come on, you know you’ve always wanted to be the one that tells Gartner something important : )
To help move the conversation along, we’re opening up two ways to contribute in the run up to the event:
Drop us a comment in reply to this post to outline any topics that you’d like to see covered on the day and, if you like, pose our panel a tough question or two. We’ll ensure that your contributions make it into the agenda, particularly during the panel debate session.
We’ll also be running a converation on Twitter prior to the event. To get involved, just Tweet using the hashtag ‘#CMSdebate’. The Squiz team will be monitoring this closely to ensure we start the conversation going ahead of time. So, again, if you’d like to pitch in some ideas or pose a question, use Twitter as a channel. We’ll be on it and will be responding to you directly. You can also drop us a Tweet at @squizuk.
So, don’t hang about, join in here and discuss it here. The Future of Web Content Management is up for grabs. Have your say!
In the meantime, I urge you to get on board and join us on the 2nd July. Click here to find out more about the event and to register to attend.
