Squiz Project Highlights of 2011
As the year draws to a close, we're taking a moment to look back on our project highlights of 2011. Continuing advancements in cloud computing, the mobile web, multi-channel publishing and content targeting have given us the opportunity to work on some really exciting and innovative projects. They include (in no particular order):
The University of Bedfordshire
This was the first of our responsive design websites to go live. It's built to adapt to the user's browser size, so it looks great whether you're viewing it on a desktop computer, mobile phone, or tablet. It also has a slick contemporary look, a user-friendly course finder and is hosted on Squiz's private cloud.

The University of Salford
Another great university website that went live this year was the new University of Salford site. Again, the course finder is a key component; not only does it allow for easy navigation of the university's course information, but it also allows the user to select a number of courses to compare against each other.

National Parks
We've been working with the Association of National Park Authorities on a number of their websites; rebuilding, adding functionality and migrating content to increase efficiencies and make the sites easier to manage. They are a great example of an organisation who are working together to share services, knowledge, and resources with one another in order to achieve more with their IT and web spend - and Squiz are a perfect match for this goal.

Clearswift
Clearswift are a global information-security company that have worked with Squiz for a number of years to deliver their multilingual websites. This year, Clearswift upgraded their sites from Squiz Matrix to a cloud hosted Squiz CMS solution, bringing all the scalability and flexibility of the private Squiz cloud, as well as the usability and functionality of the complete Squiz Suite. They are also using Squiz CMS's Contexts feature to deliver personalised, localised content to their users and Squiz's Analytics Services to optimise their search engine marketing.Watch a short video interview with Nick Peart from Clearswift

Westminster Abbey
Another long time client, and another that has benefited from the private Squiz cloud this year. The Squiz cloud helped to keep the Abbey's site online throughout the Royal Wedding - no mean feat considering the dramatic increase in traffic. This year, they've also introduced a new responsive web deign and have continued to increase their use of social media.

The Victoria and Albert Museum
In May, the V&A launched a new, fully redesigned website, powered by Squiz Matrix. The site boasts many technical innovations including an intuitive browsing experience which quickly guides visitors to the information they're looking for, search powered dynamic content, community pages for user generated content and an integrated V&A Channel to deliver interviews and behind-the-scenes footage.Read more about the new V&A website

We've also been working on a few other projects which are shaping up to be pretty darn impressive but haven't been launched just yet... We'll bring you all the details in 2012!
