The University of Bedfordshire Launches Squiz Powered Website with Responsive Design to Deliver a User-Optimised Experience Across Multiple Devices

The University of Bedfordshire's new website provides an optimal user experience with a contemporary, mobile-friendly design, powerful course finder and intuitive information architecture. The University worked with Squiz to redesign and rebuild their site on the web experience management platform, Squiz Suite, and are using Funnelback Search technology for information retrieval throughout the site.
The bold, contemporary design has been built to adapt to the user's browser and device using an approach known as Responsive Web Design. The elements of the pages are flexible and shift as the browser width changes, ensuring that page layout is optimal and the site is usable, regardless of the user's device. This approach means that the University has only one site to maintain and no longer needs a separate mobile site or application.
An intuitive, user-friendly course finder is a vital element for any university website as it represents the single most powerful recruitment tool for prospective students. The University of Bedfordshire's course finder, powered by Funnelback Search, has pride of place on the homepage, from where the user can search and find the course information they are looking for with only two clicks. The course finder is also available as a full-page application which offers multiple filtering options to allow users to refine their search by course level, faculty, department or teaching mode.
