Our Standard package allocates the skills of a Squiz designer to guide you through the briefing process and to create a unique and fully standards compliant design concept, based on your branding, accessibility and usability requirements. All work is monitored by an implementation consultant, and in turn your designer will assess the HTML/CSS cut-up and implementation of your design to ensure it is of the highest standard. A dedicated Account Manager will be assigned to define the project deliverables/timeline and will be your main point of contact throughout the process. |
Standard Design Package Breakdown - The Process Steps Explained
Briefing
During this crucial stage, we gather all the information required for your design. A Design Brief document will be issued to help you consider the key aspects of your new design, which we will then discuss and develop together. This stage also sees the gathering of all required components, such as your branding guidelines (including examples of any relevant print materials), your logo(s) and imagery. Once the design brief has been completed, and requirements have been discussed with all relevant members of your organisation, your Squiz designer will create a series of wire-frames (illustrative diagrams for addressing the placement and proportions of all necessary components) which can then be revised until we are certain they are accurate, at which point they are signed off and we are able to move onto the next step.
Concept Creation
Based on the design brief and wire-frames, the creative phase of Concept Creation begins. It is our aim to be as certain as possible at this stage on how the overall aesthetics, or ‘look and feel’, will appear. Once the concepts have been completed there will be an ‘unveil’ meeting, during which we will present the key elements of the design and our approach. Following this, you will have time to sit with the designs, show them to all necessary parties, and form a list of any required alterations or amendments. This feedback is then collated and a meeting held, if required, to discuss. At this point a final list is created and the Revision Process can begin.
Revisions Process
This process gives us the chance to fine-tune our designs. It’s a helpful time to reflect and make adjustments, where necessary, as we now have a real visual point to work from. Once the revision phase is completed and we are satisfied with the design, your design files will be delivered and the project signed off. If Squiz are implementing the designs for you, the project can now be moved into the Build Phase.
Build
Your designer will take on the roll of Artistic Director to oversee the cut-up (recreating the design in HTML/CSS) and implementation (into the CMS) of your design to ensure its integrity is maintained. This involves a hand-over meeting with the technical staff member charged with cutting-up the design, regular on-going support for anyone working on the cut-up/ implementation of the design, and regular QA (quality assurance) meetings at key stages throughout the project.
