MySource Matrix Section Name

This course teaches users the basics of how to use the Administration Interface of MySource Matrix. Whilst focusing on how to perform the fundamental, day-to-day tasks such as creating pages and basic content, we also introduce more complex features of MySource Matrix such as workflow, creating divisions and tagging content.

This course is not intended to be taken in isolation; rather it forms a foundation before progressing to one or more of the other courses (in particular, MATR 201). It is also an ideal course for people wishing to evaluate MySource Matrix.

By the end of this course participants will be able to:

• Create pages and files
• Add basic content to a page
• Insert links and images
• Create divisions
• Restructure the navigation hierarchy of your site
• Add metadata
• Tagg content
• Understand the publishing model
• Understand the workflow approval process

This course is for people who need to have a comprehensive understanding of all MySource Matrix administrative principles, using a System Administrator account. Anyone who intends to play a major administrative role in a MySource Matrix system must undertake this course and complete it successfully.

This course teaches users how to use the assets that are available in the MySource Matrix CMS package. It is aimed for people who need to know how to set up Member registration pages, image libraries, staff directories, etc. The assets that are included in this course are as follows:

This course teaches users how to use the search assets available in the MySource Matrix Search Package. This includes the Search Manager, Search Page, Search Folder and Search Lists.

By the end of this course you should be able to:

• Use the Search Manager effectively
• Design and configure search pages that include numerous search fields and/or search categories.
• Create Search Folders
• Create Search Lists

This course teaches how to create and edit designs in MySource Matrix. The main topics covered by this course are:

• Design and Design Customisation assets
• An in-depth study of all the MySource Matrix tags used in parse files

By the end of this course participants will be able to:

• Create a Design and apply it to a site
• Understand the importance of a Design Customisation
• Create a Design Customisation
• Understand the MySource Matrix tags
• Apply the MySource Matrix tags in the Design

Please note that this course does not cover design template creation using tools like Photoshop, etc. Neither does it cover topics like CSS layouts, HTML structuring of your parse file or meeting W3C standards.

This course teaches the complicated world of web standards and accessibility issues with a focus on content layout. Anyone who needs to consider accessibility issues and W3C compliancy issues when publishing content on a web page should attend this course.

• Determine accessibility requirements of your site
• Implement your desired level of accessibility
• Use tools to help validate your site's compliance and accessibility
• Maintain these standards in your MySource Matrix site
